Tributation

Kris McKenna brings us yet another great military music video, this one set to a song called "Sonne", by the German band Rammstein. Now before you start emailing me about the German opposition to the war in Iraq, remember that this isn't a political website and I'll use any music that rocks. Not only that, but several members of the German military, as well as German citizens, have emailed me to express their support of this website and the Iraq coalition forces.

Above all, my favorite reason that validates using this song comes from the mother of a soldier currently serving in Afghanistan. Her son tells her that the Taliban HATE IT when they roll into town blasting Rammstein on the loudspeakers. What a perfect reason to use their song in a video!

"Sonne" translates to "Sun" in English, and I think you'll like how the video shows the grit and dust that is the war today but ends with a nice shot of the sun coming up, showing us it won't always be that way. If you're looking for a German translation for "Tributation", you probably won't find one, it just sounded good for a tribute video.

Kris actually made this before I posted "Divine Intervention". With all the negative press in the media back in May, I had to post that one first to show the positive side of things you don't see on the news. Now with "Tributation", we get back to heavy metal songs to pump up the troops on base and in battle.

Kris probably won't have any new videos on GrouchyMedia for a while since he's turning his attention to making a full movie. If it's anything like his music videos I'm sure it will rock!
