24th MEU In Iraq

"24th MEU In Iraq" contains some amazing pictures and video taken by some troops in the heat of battle, and the fine folks at Combat Camera, all put together by one of their own. You won't believe the great shots you'll see in it, set to the song "Your Disease", by Saliva. Aerial video, troops on the ground, and celebrating free Iraqis show what a great job the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit did for us out there!

You can find more about Combat Camera by searching here, and more about the 24th MEU here. They are an awesome group of people who do amazing work!

Iraqi Freedom

This video was made by Ray W., a college student from California, and set to the killer Tool song, "Hush". It was made sometime in 2003, shortly after the fall of Baghdad, and covers the first few months of the current Iraq war. It starts with the cruise missiles that kicked off the war, quickly moves into some serious action, and is followed by jubilant celebrations in the streets of Iraq.

Ray did an amazing job editing this all together with a nice theme to it. He tells me he plans to work on another version with a new song and more recent video and images and I can't wait to see what else he puts together. I'll be sure to post it here when he finds the time in between studying for classes to make another one.

If you want to tell Ray what you think of his work, you can email him here: nhbinternational@usa.com

Enjoy!

Update April 2006: The Iraqi Government has declared April 9th as "Iraqi Freedom Day". That should be reason enough to take five minutes each year on this date to come by and watch this tribute video in support of the people who made it all possible!

WooHoo

Want something fun to watch? Then this is your video!

It's short and sweet at two minutes long and set to that great Blur song, "Song 2". You may know the song better by the catchy "WooHoo" lyrics and the upbeat rhythm.

The video contain footage of student pilots conducting target practice on all sorts of ground targets. Apparently every class gets to put together one of these to show off their awesome new skills. Some of the on-board camera video really shows just how accurate those bombs can be when dropped by a skilled pilot!

Crank it up and enjoy!

American Heroes

Similar to the touching tribute in the "Hero" video from January, this one is set to the song Adiemus. It was made by Kris McKenna, a Deputy Sheriff for Somerset County, ME. He was stuck inside one snowy afternoon and thought he'd give video editing a try to see what he could contribute to the website.

Kris tells me he used Windows Movie Maker to do the editing and found the images by searching the Internet. I think he did a great job and am very happy to add it to the growing collection here at GrouchyMedia.com.
